here's mine! I didn't want it to be obnoxious, with wires everywhere, I hate that! so I made it all neat, hid all the wires, ran the coax cable above the frame so you can see that either. im just not sure how I feel about the 4 ft antenna yet.....

EDIT: just ordered a 2' firestik. the 4' is a little much.

Get a 3 foot firestik. Love mine. :) it baaaarely hits the 7'2" clearance bar in the parking garage. Like if it was a half inch shorter it wouldn't hit.

Oh me either. Lol. This is my first setup as well. I know in past wheeling trips the guys with shorter antennas wouldn't be able to hear our trail leaders, so i figured another Foot might Help. I haven't even tested it yet Really. after I tuned it, another TW member and could hear each other about 1/8 - 1/4 mile in The city. Out on trails Will obviously yield better Results. I used it last weekend and was picking up chatter but didnt know the distance. I was in the forest with mountains and valleys too.

I'd say that's pretty typical. Is 19 still the going channel in most places?

17 seems to be the winner on most big freeways around here.

Bumping this back up as I've been pondering a CB install and I'm hoping more if you have photos to share. So far I'm leaning towards a center console install ...

All joking aside this thread helped me install mine so thanks to the original posters.

The external speaker is a necessity if you mount in the CC. You can run one anywhere. I have seen thin speakers installed above the driver/passenger in the headliner, under the seats, and in horrible spots. I chose to keep mine out of the way and didn't feel like messing with the headliner so I put it in the CC with the CB.

shortest cord for my placement (don't get a 18' cord if you don't need it)

I don't have a CB but I use the truck radio's AUX input for my HF radio.

What bracket did you use to mount the CB there?

Try Panavise, not sure if it's been mentioned before. I bought a few custom spot brackets from them before, just recycled one from my old truck satellite radio to use for my scanner. They've go lots of multi use brackets too for just about every spot in your truck at almost every angle. Hope that helps.

The stretchy netting bracket;) haha It is such a pain to put everything in place like that because the power inverter for the bed outlet is right under there that I couldn't really use a bracket. That netting holds it just fine, plus I can tip it forward to see the screen better if I need to.
