If You Could Put Anything into the Next Years Model of a Tacoma what would it be?

screw it. all seats fold together to make a camping style inside cabin bed

 

A direct-inject, turbo charged 2.2 or 2.4L 4 banger with 3.0 or 3.2L V6 twin-turbo option; genuine fuel economy with power on tap.

Or a decent size diesel.

Toyota's got to get this model into the new century at least, even if the new decade is a bit daunting for 'em yet.

Not sayin' this isn't something the current Tacoma is lacking... but what it IS is something you can easily, and rather economically, get done in the after-market. And most likely much more to your liking than anything an OEM would offer no matter how well they do it.

When I first scanned this thread, the first thing I asked is what would make me look at a new truck and give me reason to trade my perfectly good one for 5 more years of payments. In order to top that bar, it had to be something I can not do to mine, or it's impractical, or cost would be prohibitively expensive.

 

A larger gas tank! Really wish I could make it past 300 miles on a tank. I don't need heated mirrors but they should also be putting the turn signal mirrors on all models of this truck. My DCLB is pretty damn long so if someone is on my sides, no way they're seeing my turn signals.

 

I think the JBL sound system is really good for a stock set-up. A million times better sounding than the Bose system that came in my Mazda.

 

Front locker...on board air...bed light...a real suspension.

 

I had it. When I started replacing with better quality speakers, it became clear how lacking it really was. The Sub is almost completely useless. I ended up turning it off and got better sound from just the speakers. My wife bought and Acura TSX back in 07' it came factory with a 10" sub and it sounds great still.

 

Atrac, maybe heated mirrors, not really needed though. V8 out of my 05 4runner over a diesel.

I'm assuming this would have to be ordered as ifs is more stable (?) on pavement. Wouldn't really have much need for SFA on prerunners....

 

I'm with Oz.. heated mirrors and rear window defrost.. I have the top of the line Tacoma available in Canada and no heated mirrors??? WTF Toyota????

 

Offroad warranty like ford has with the raptor, for the top of the line Tacoma.

 

Heated mirrors and auto climate control are what I miss out of my Highlander.

Freekin summer is almost over.

We had a Lincoln Navigator and the A/C not just fans but real Air Conditioned seats, it was soooo nice!

 

Factory lightbar w/ driving lights. Locking fuel door. Rear slide down window. ie Tundra.

 

Front and rear lockers standard, solid front axle, manual hubs and mechanical 4X4 engagement, 1-ton suspension rating, 8 foot bed, regular cab, 5 speed manual, 8 cylinder turbo diesel (variable geometry turbo), vinyl floors, no bedliner, no heated seats or heated steering wheel, Warn winch, skid plates, 4 inch suspension lift, mud terrains standard, towing package standard with gooseneck, boxed frame

 

My dad has an '04 BMW 745i (I think), he bought it used a few years ago for 16 grand cash. He has onboard navigation, heated and a/c'd and massaging seats. Wtf BMW has got their shit straight.
