Been meaning to post for about a week now regarding the TRD CAI for 2012 and the news is not good. I go to SEMA every year for work and made a point of stopping by the TRD van and grilling them about the CAI. Talked to a TRD Exec for about 15 minutes and they said that they will most likely be pulling the plug on this project. They mentioned that there will be a new truck release and with only a 2 year window for the CAI that tooling up really does not make a lot of sense (understandable). They also have to get the harness approved by Japan for OEM warranty issues. They said they are trying but those 2 reasons make it a long shot. They Exec gave me their direct info and said they should have a final answer in the next 4-6 weeks but that the project was most likely going to be killed. I will update again when I have their final word on the matter.

Does the Trd trucks come with Trd CAI's

This today from the TRD Rep I spoke to at the SEMA show in Vegas - "It Looks like we won’t be pursuing the air intake for Tacoma. There are some engine configurations we have not been able to overcome."

There you go. If you want a CAI you're gonna have to go aftermarket ... we can finally put this one to bed.

Thanks for the update. I picked up a 2012 accessories book the other day at the dealership. It still lists the CAI in there. Strange for them to list it in the catalog if they do not end up selling one.
