Vibration when in drive around 30 to 35 drive in fourth no vibration.
They said a transmission flush may or may not correct the problem cost is 220.
Diagnostic to find the problem is 100 bucks they also said it is slipping in all gears wich I do not feel when driving it. Any suggestions ? They did however fix the recall on the spiral cable and something about the gas pedal. So that's a plus at least

i doubt that paying for diagnostics would solve much without having a light on. but then again obdII systems constantly exceed my expectations as to what they know.

i, personally would take it to the biggest, shiniest transmission shop around and ask them. let somebody at least change the fluid. maybe they could tell you more after seeing the fluid. i.e. its burnt, or its clumpy, or somebody somehow peed in it somehow, or whatever. with that they could tell you what to do. ie, its burnt so yo may need a new transmission. or its kinda old'/dirty so a flush might fix it.

    just ask lots of questions

yea seriously, let us know whats up. i think your the first auto trans problem i've heard of. unless you did something really mean to it, i would guess it to be ok. i know you said that the shuddering only happens in drive, but does that throw out u joints? carrier bearing? maybe they only vibrate bad at that lower rpm. harmonics.

Ok forgot to mention I replaced the transmission mount and had a local drive shaft shop build me a one piece drive shaft so it is not the u joints or a carrier bearing problem it started after I went out mudding in it

Trans cooler/radiator likely clogged with mud and the trans is running hot.

Vibration goes away in 4th... doesn't get worse at higher speeds, it's definitely a problem with the trans.

OP needs to pin down what caused it or the new trans will smoke as well.

Ok finally was able to stop at a transmission shop the tourqe converter is going out.
And the tranny fluid is contaminated with water apparently I ran it to hard in to deep of water/mud. Not a cheap lesson at $700 but a lesson learned none the less. Looks like time to move the transmission breather along with all the others at the same time. Plus drain and fill of all diffs.

    +10,000

$700 for a TC is a fuckload better than $4,000 for a new trans.

The vibration likely goes away after the TC clutch locks up.

I would also make sure that they disassemble the transmission and clean and flush out everything. When the Torque Converter goes it usually lets go of metal chips etc that will wear, bind and clog all the passages and valves inside the transmission. Plus all the water and dirt that got inside.

The price includes a complete system flush and clean.
I will find out what the stealership would charge just for the fun of it.
I am suprised more people don't have this problem.
