Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
I've got an OME/Dakar 3" lift in with an ARB winch bumper. 255/85/16 coming soon (donations to the Tire Fund are greatly appreciated......).
I know many of you have had to do some trimming to fit larger tires on, even with a lift. I'm sure some of you have pics of the work you've done.
I'm looking to see what I need to trim, how much, where, and what it should look like when I'm done. I know a cab-mount chop is likely in order. What else?
PICS are what I'm looking for, though any input you have would be welcome!

I'm wondering if it's possible to keep the mudflaps??

Trimmed nothing! Rubs inner bumps on front mud flaps slightly if I bounce it too hard at full lock.

Pretty much exactly the route I'm going, except the front bumper and the 1st-Gen wheels.
Do you know the exact specs on those wheels? BS is 4.5, got it. Offset? Width? It'll give me an apples-to-apples comparison of other wheel fitment.
Do you have detail pics of the rubbing? I suppose it's asking too much for a pic of full-lock, full compression, so I can see just how close things are...?...

THAT'S the kind of shots I was hoping for! (Not the far-away profile shots...which are good in their own right).
Who did the CMC work? Do you have a detail shot of that, say, from about the same angle but from below?
    Any other rubbing issues?

Bumper is stock & will be replaced when funds allow (skids & sliders currently on order).
Don't know the offset in mm but they are 16"x7" so off set is 1".
Don't have a pic of full stuff but this is at full lock & as far as the jack under the LCA would stuff it. The bump on the mud flap is straight over from the d on the tire (the lug without the T/A) inside the fender not on the fender.

Thanks for the detail shot. A pic is definitely worth a thousand words.
I would really rather not have to do any trimming anywhere, and it sounds like the upcoming tire package I'm looking at will be perfect for just that.
When you say "slight rubbing" on the mudflap, it looks like it's so slight as to not cause any concern?

It only happened 3 times & no I'm not concerned. If I didn't have the mud flaps on they would never rub.

I'm sorry to revive an old thread. It seems that 4Wheelin4Banger's setup: a 255/85/16 tire, on a 16x7 rim with 4.5 BS, with a 3in lift resulted in very minimal rubbing, none if he removed his mud flaps. Have others ran this setup with similar results?

Yes. That is precisely the setup I have.
Very very little rubbing, and then only at full stuff, and only on the mudflaps. Not enough to bother trimming anything.

There are a few threads on this in the wheel and tire section. Here is one of the bigger more useful threads:

I have the same results now that I'm at 2 3/4". I added sliders -1/4" front & rear, a full set of skids -1/2" in front, then added 1/4" spacers to regain 1/2" up front.
    Can you run front mudflaps with 255/85/16 or 255/80/17 ? ([IMG] 1 2 3)

If all that is required is a knife then I am good to go. I don't have any grinding tools at my disposal, which is why I'm not sure if I should go 255/85/16 or not (spare tire placement definitely needs some grinding..) I'm not going 285, I prefer the pizza cutter style. I'm planning on getting the OME lift kit with 885s, dakar rear end and LR UCAs. It sounds like that setup with a 7" wide rim w/ 4.5BS should work fine.
