Blown head gasket stuck the piston ring fast

    I'm new here but i'm a Tacoma guy and what I've read so far is to good all ready picked up a lot of info so thanks so much.Had my 2005 blow head gasket the other day 107.000 miles and was looking at dash when it happend saw heat gauge going up pulled over before even went all the way up but to late pulled motor and one ring stuck,i heard if water level gets to low heat sensor is delayed.Any way what i'm looking for from u all Tacoma guys is some were I can get parts fast like rings bearing motor kit and so on,I don't want any racing parts just the same as or stock i'm having a hard time finding them and i'm sure some of have been there and done that,any help would be great thanks in advance and great job in the forums.Oh the other night the one on the wedge in the top of the door got my locked keys out thanks.

    I would definitely look for a used motor. By the time you tear it down and machine both the heads and the block (which will most likely require pulling the motor to do correctly anyway, you're gonna be somewhere close to the same cost. Once that kind of damage is done, the motor will NEVER be the same...I went through this will my last truck. Should have just picked up a used engine, dropped it in and been done. Just my $.02...

    OP, look into a used motor. There are plenty out there. I use Car-Parts.com for junkyard parts.

    Well thanks u all that was great! Sorry for not replying. I've
    Been busy.No just wish I could have had the time to chat some
    On these forms,as soon as I have some time I'll go thru and
    See what I can learn from u all and thanks for the these tacoma
    Guys got it going on I need all the help I can get.Any got motor
    Back together in truck and runing like new again.I put stock
    size rings,bearing kit,gasket kit,honed cyclinders and cleaned
    Up all others parts with a wire wheel and adjusted vavles and took
    4 days full days labor as for never done before. Was planing on
    Just pulling heads but down loaded schematic and it read for bad
    Head gaskets 1 remove battery 2 remove engine assembly started to
    Look at motor and the front piece goes top to bottom and bends to the
    Back of the motor,u can't adjust vavles pull heads or do much
    Without pulling but in the end all was good I just wish I could of got u alls
    Tips before hand could have saved time oh it took almost as much
    Effort to get parts quick and the weight ones thanks again.
