Looking for pictures of the mounting brackets and setups others have been using for their back racks (or any other attachments.) I have a back rack brand rack that I want to mount to the inside rails of the bed. I am going to be using the rack to tie down my ATV and dirt bike, I have seen the triangle plates that people are using as tie downs so i am assuming that the bed rails are strong enough for my application. Has anyone had any problems with the rails not being strong enough? I will be tying into the rails on the side and the one across the back of the bed.

In a few months time I will have access to a waterjet machine at work :D so I am going to start modeling something up in CAD. The plan is to make new pieces that slide onto the ends of the rack that will bolt down to the bed rail system.

any thoughts and pictures are greatly appreciated!

Nice rack! Haha. The Christmas lights really bring the whole thing together!

Have you used the rack to tie down to? Do you find its sturdy enough without tying into the back rail in the bed too?

When I had the rack on I've carried up to 20' lumber over the rack and tailgate , no worries about roping it down , but I usually lashed the load at the rack end , as well as across the tailgate end into the bedrail cleats

Perfect. Sounds like what I'm trying to do will work. Anyone else using the bed rails to mount tie downs and racks of any sort? ( other than the stock plastic sliding hooks) how did you mount them?
