I just installed a Magnaflow Offroad Pro Series on my truck yesterday. Install took 20 minutes and didn't even have to jack the truck up. I like it cause it's a turn down and not a full-length exhaust. Other people on here say it's too loud for them. It is pretty loud but I don't mind. The drone at 2000rpm will get old I'm sure but it sounds great when ripping on the highway. And the advantage of going with a cat-back and not just a muffler is when you sell your truck, you can just bolt the stock exhaust right back up and sell your cat-back.

Muffler swap! You have more selections. plus why replace and pay for all that pipe when you already have it stock?

I have the 13" Magnaflow muffler. Has a nice note to it, not too raspy and hardly noticeable inside the cab. Sounds real good at WOT.

I guess some do it for the larger dia. pipes to go along w/ the more free flowing muffler? maybe it also adds to the performance?

There are no significant performance gains with either the muffler or full exhaust swap. The only question is sound. The muffler can get you that a lot cheaper. There are two good reasons to go the full exhaust route. First is that eliminating the cats cuts the chances of starting a fire if you wheel the truck in grassy areas. Second is to eliminate cats that are defective or plugged. I guess you could say 3 reasons if bragging rights count. I have no intentions of spending all that money to replace cats when they go. When the cats start giving me trouble I'm swapping in the URD / DT full exhaust system. I won't be expecting anything performance wise though.

Eliminating the converters is a bad idea on newer vehicles. Emission fines for being caught is $10,000 on the first offense. Also you will skew the down stream oxy sensors and get a MIL and set a code with in the PCM that will not go away. Also Decreased performance and more throttle will be needed to get the truck moving thus a decrease in MPG DRAMATIC.

i really like my magnaflow offroad pro series for the sound and and the fact that it drops off rite at the muffler. not to big on having the exhaust sticking out the back. but that wicked floe sounds pretty good. my just have to get it and cut it off short..lol

Muffler swap leave stock tail pipe is the route I'm going. Just with the Magnaflow XL the 14" body. It's the same as the other magnaflows just not polished.

The difference in HP for the system I mentioned is like 4hp. URD has an O2 simulator so no issues there either. The swap is only an issue if you have to be inspected. Most of us are guilty of 3 or 4 crimes before breakfast. Better get used to it. :D
