I have searched but can't seem to find the answer. I have 2012 Regular Cab do they qualify for the 4th leaf TSB or is this only for TRD? Also if this does qualify and I want to get it and level the truck out, are 5100 Bilsteins the right thing for the job? I haven't been on here in a while due to work and school and I feel like this is a easily answered question but exhaustion is overtaking my ability to find anything tonight.

Do not believe any 2012 qualifies for the rear spring TSB.

and not sure any reg. cab ever has.

Ok thanks, I figured I was crazy. But I am going to the dealership next week for a strange knocking sound when the a/c is on at idle and wanted to make sure I didn't need to have any TSB taken care of while I was at it. Exhaustion has made me crazy lately. Thanks again

I found a handful of threads where people have had rear leaf tsb done on their '12s. They went through the usual crap of 'no tsb yet' and combated with saying the parts are the same and it's only a matter of time. Took a while to find the few threads that had this mentioned, but none were regular cabs.

I asked my dealer out of curiosity about it and was told the same, no rear leaf tsb for '12s, and that the leaf springs were re-engineered  He also mentioned that the TSB never included regular cabs even in prior years, which I've heard some people say is BS and the actual TSB omits RC from the list, but includes it when it goes through all the VIN prefixes affected.

some 2012 Tacoma models for American buyers come from the factory with the 4-leaf rear springs (commonly known here as the TSB rear leafs)

No leaf spring TSB for Regular cabs through all model years. Only Access Cabs and Double Cabs. Although I have heard that some persistant regular cab owners have been able to convince the dealer to change the springs out.

My '12 RC is 3leaf. Haven't had the opportunity to load the bed down and see if I bottom out or anything but i suspect it would ride a little better with some weight. Rear end feels squirrely if i hit a bump at freeway speeds.

And to the guy with a new trans for rattle with AC on - sheesh, there are tons of threads about this, if Toyota were to replace everyone's transmissions, especially for a temporary fix, they'd be in serious trouble. Always sounded like some sort of heat shield rattle to me, but noticed it the night i drove it off the lot with 1mile on it, celebrated with shitty fast food and sounded like a diesel in the drivethru :)

Hard to believe a dealership would do this. ^^^

A manufacturer TSB is isssued and paid for by the manufacturer. Not many dealers would eat the cost of parts & labor. :notsure:

I dont know about yours but mine is definitely no rattle. I had a heat shield rattle on an old GMC that I used to have, this is no doubtedly a knock.
