When you activate the washer, aren't the wipers supposed to automatically sweep? Mine don't, have to manually turn them on. Broken?

Truck is 2012 regular cab. 4x4.

If u don't hold it down long enough for the washer fluid they won't activate

Took me about 15 minutes to install my intermittent wiper switch. The hardest part was trying to get the tab on the steering wheel plastic cover to pop. Make the change, you will be glad you did.

This. No intermittent = no automatic anything.
Yup... I installed mine in the parking lot after work with nothing more than a multitool.

Did the cruise control at the same time, but the airbag has to come off for the cruise, not for the wipers.

That explains it, I don't have intermitent wipers. Think I'll look into installing them. Thanks.

Maybe it's an OCD thing, but I prefer to not have the automatic wiper turn-on with the washer. Too often my windshield is so dirty that one splash of the washer is not enough. I'd rather get it plenty wet before using the wipers to rub the dirt across the windshield.

    This.

My truck has all the SR5 options on it, the intermittent wipers sweep while activating the washer. My work truck is a base model Tacoma, has non intermittent wipers and does not automatically sweep. It's lame.

Def look into swapping the control out, it's the same motor, so you just need the stalk. Lots of guys have done it.
