Tonight I wired up the diff lock anytime mod (the switch to ground method not relay method) the abs light comes on and the locker engages but the light blinks on the dash. If I'm correct the light is supposed to be solid when its engaged. The flashing is slightly slower than when the button is pressed and the switch to ground is turned off. The rear end definitely is locked up but when I push the button again to turn it off, there is a click in the dash and the light goes out but the rear is still locked up. I have tried moving the truck, turning the wheels, putting the truck in 4hi and 4lo but the light will not go solid and the rear won't unlock.

It's too dark and rainy to tear into anything right now but I thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem. I did manage to find one post about the actuator being filled up with mud. I am going to lift the tires and try rocking it to see if its maybe fetched up. If that doesn't work, is there a disassembly thread or an exploded diagram of the actuator around?

Thanks ahead of time for the help!

will do. I haven't used the rear locker and i doubt the previous owner did either so I have a suspicion that the actuator might be seized up or a connection is corroded.

If you don't use the locker, why the grey wire mod? Or is that 2nd gen only?

    Fixing something that isn't broke?

Check your wiring, may be something is crossed, getting power when you don't want it. Does it work right if you reverse the wiring to stock?

I have only had the truck for about 4 months. So it's that I just haven't used the locker "yet." I did the mod so I could use it in 2 wheel drive and in 4hi

I haven't tried anything yet so it might be as simple as that. I just posted here to see if anyone else had the same problem. I am going out now to tinker with it. I will post my results. Thanks for the replies!

Thanks for the link frank! I actually just got it working. I just pulled the sensor and cleaned it off then cleaned up the actuator. It just had layers and layers of undercoating and I think that might have gummed something up. With the wheels off the ground it locked in no problem. I am thinking that it was just lack of use. With everything cleaned up and cycling the rear lock 10-15 times it locks in no problem now. So make sure to always use your 4wd and diff lock often, even just to lock it in and out. Then when you need it it will work!
