I believe all the mirrors are interchangeable. That is to say that you can take a 2009 mirror, and swap it with a 2013, and the connector will fit. The only difference is funtionality. The 2013 mirror has the temp display and compass, and the 2009 does not. So if you plug in the 2013 mirror, you will not get the temp because the 2009 does not have the temp sensor wired to the mirror. Others have upgraded their 2009 mirrors with 2013 mirrors and they worked but had to do some wiring to get the temp display, and features like Homelink to work. More info on wiring the mirror for temp and Homelink here.

Having said this, it is only a belief, because I did not have different mirrors to play with, so my info is only relavent to my install.

I'm not really worried about having home link or temp. just want that basic function of using the camera on reverse.

I couldn't fine a plug for the mirror so I've decided to just tap into the wire. My problem now is identifying which wire from the camera, goes to which wire from the mirror(hope that makes sense).

this wires are from the mirror. different colors from what you did on your write up.

^^^ it depends if you go used or new. there's a member here selling those parts brand new on the BST section.

as for me, decided to be patient and just buy used. look through ebay and local junk yards. got my mirror from a wreck 2010 for 70$, and manage to bid and win an OEM tailgate w/camera for 76$ shipped from ebay. 11$ worth of wiring from what connects to the camera harness to the cab that connects to the mirror. zip ties, electrical tape, various wiring taps and connectors, maybe less than 20$.

now it might not be an accurate number of how much I spent, but it cost me less than 200$ at most.

check that thread out if you want brand new parts. or ebay and local junk yards are your best bet.
