I'm currently looking real hard at a new tacoma, weather it be a 2012 or the 2013 I'm not sure yet.

My question and concern has to do with the new touch screen radios that are in some of the late 2012 and new 2013 tacomas. How bright are they at night? The wife has expressed concerns that it'll be bright and distracting similar to what my current gps unit is.

Can the brightness be adjusted on these? I know on some after market units you can. I'm sure it dims down at night when the head lights are on but I'm still concerned that it'll be to bright.

Can some one please snap a picture of the whole dash at night with and without the head lights on?

I don't have a pic but you can adjust brightness and contrast. It will also auto night mode if selected.

Besides the night mode it is also possible to turn the screen off as well.

As the others said, it shouldn't be an issue. Doesn't bother me at all at night.

    Just getting started.
I always turn all my gauge back-lighting as low as possible and I do not find the radio too bright.

Went in today to go and finger a tacoma with entune.

Well they didn't have a tacoma with one they did have a camary with one. So i got to play with it. I must say that with all the adjustments available on it the brightness level is a non issue for me anymore.

One question about it though, I know on the camary you can view some of the veichle info like tire pressure and fuel consumption. Does the tacoma also tell you these things?

Nope. You would think after paying $25k-$35k for a tacoma you would get that or at least as a option package.

Looking at the new 2013 tacoma catalog and back in the features section it says "vehicle information" in the entune radio description.

Yes the radio stays on. All the steering wheel controls and the actual buttons still work. When you change stations or volume a small bar at top comes on shows the information and then turns off after a few seconds.

No vehicle information on the 2012's can't help you on the 2013's. I can tell you it ticks me off the 2012 doesn't have it.

Well hopefully the 2013 does. We'll find out soon enough as I've given the dealer the go ahead and try and find a 2013 in the specs that I want.
