I heard from the sales dude today. Apparently, the truck is already on its way to the dealer, so that means the Toyoguard Elite crap was already "installed". I'll have to talk to 'em about coming off that price, since the oil changes are tire rotations are of no use to me.

From his build list, it's an ANB fab custom rack.

The best advice when negotiating a price on a new vehicle is don't go in there! You shouldn't need to lay down any law. After you figure out exactly what you want, call the closest 5 or 6 Toyota dealers to where you live on the phone. Then ask for the sales dept and explain exactly what you want to them, and ask for their best out the door quote.

I would never go in face to face with the sharks to negoitate a $30k purchase. Pit them all against each other over the phone and you will get no hassle low quotes right off the bat.

Yeah, I'm not expecting any major concessions. I share the same feelings in that regard, since I was indeed very specific in what I want. They'll sell the truck to someone else, if I threaten to walk. They know the Taco is in demand, just as much as we do...

that was my assumption from your posts...

your best bet at this point, if you want the truck...is to negotiate the full price and not worry about the specific add ons.

Just FYI, the pic of your truck is what solidified my decision to go Spruce Mica on a new Tacoma. :D

Yeah, it actually got here early, and it was dropped at the dealer. I took that picture right before my first test drive. Nice feeling!

Got a question. As I was showing off the truck to my neighbor, I was standing in just the right spot and noticed a small indentation in the left rear pillar of the cab, on the corner behind the passenger door. There's no disturbance to the paint, so this tells me it was there before it was painted. It's something I can live with, but should I go back to the dealer and make a big deal over it?

Here are a few shots. It's tough to see and, so far, I'm the only one who notices it. LOL

As a USAA member I used their buying service. Free!
Ordered mine loaded, aka ck'd all the buttons.
Some features I've never used, and some I don't know how to.
It was a special order and the dealership allowed me to pick it up at the SE point of distribution. 80 miles from my house rather that dealership location south of Atlanta.
I saved 1000's by going through the USAA bidding system.
Would I recommend USAA. Hell yes. Does a blind hog find accorns?
    Also financed through USAA bank.
Would I do it again, not up for debate.
    Semper Fi,

I'd leave it, I wouldn't want them to have to repaint it with the possibility of it peeling in the future
