I wish Ford hadn't given up on the Ranger,I owned two and they were just the right size for a daily commuter with the added benefit of being fairly good,if a little stiff, offroad.I would have liked to seen a Ranger Raptor with the ecoboost and a wider stance relative to the body and frame.

I got 13,750 for my 05 with 120,000 miles leaving the blower and exhaust system on. Was originally looking at the 2013 Trd off road and swapping all my parts through warranty for 39,500, but of all places Toyota Dealor wouldn't give me shit for my trade. Plus it's what service shop you know because I could of got warranty guarantee with urd pulley and long tubes, but you would be on your own with the 255 pump. When ford let me test drive the raptor that was it. Plus I like the fact that all bells and whistles come complete with ford from interior to off road from the factory warranty. Also fleet manager "don't know how true" stated the svt will be limited like the ford lighting. It's all opinion but I felt the extra 20,000 was worth it, especially owning it for a few weeks now.

You should go back to the dealerships online and see what they are selling your truck for. Thats the gauge I use to see if i got a fair trade value in

uh oh some one bought the raptor a yr or two soon. im waiting for them to put the ecoboost motor in that beast. the 6.2 is a nice big engine and all but 6.2 putting out 411 horses is pretty low to weight ratio. plus the ecoboost raptor smoked the 6.2 raptor. sexy looking tho. nice truck

There is a video out there, somewhere on youtube, that compares the Raptor to the Dodge Ram PreRunner. The Raptor won in almost every catagory. It was amazing the abuse that they put that truck through. Congratulations. It is way more truck than I need, but I still want one!

Not to change the subject, but what was your experience with the TRD S/C? Performance? Reliability? Maintenance costs? MPGs? How long did you have it on for?

Raptor is badass, btw. I just can't afford one. Still saving up for my $80,000 Jaguar XFR. :)

Thanks, the Tacoma was great and rock solid except for the tranny. all the mods hit the pocket book. I ran the Urd pulley, jba long tubes, with a bigger fuel pump on a reflash, and that's all you need. You don't need any piggy back or stand alone bullshit unless you want more power. I was running 9.6 on aem wide band. Tranny started slipping at 112,000 miles, and when it does that your computer will go in defense mode bumping you through four gears only, 2800 rpm at 60 mph. I enjoyed her, but enjoy the six speed auto on the v8 a whole lot better.

they already put it in one a did a lot of testing with it. and yea everything has a lot of potential. but just saying when that raptor comes out with the ecoboost that put down some shattering numbers in baja test plus its only 14lbs less then the 6.2. just saying pretty crazy that a 3.5 engine is actually in the same torque ballpark as a 6.2. plus the weight difference

They scrapped it due to the fact of heat soak on the turbos going into limp mode and a v6 nearly maxed out to full potential on a 5800 pound chassis. As far as the mighty EB it came 3rd out of three in the 2012 Four Wheeler truck of the year award competition (see march 2012 magazine). It was the slowest of the 3 trucks and it was competing against 3/4 ton trucks that outweighed it by 1300-1600 lbs. (FLA.SVT). If ecoboost was the only choice I would have kept my supercharged Tacoma.

I sold my '10 Raptor 5.4 which I bought new (and got a smoking deal at 39K out of Las Vegas) and bought a '09 DCLB Tacoma - The Raptor was a great truck for Las Vegas, for the road, for anywhere - hands down the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven - even when jumping/going over curbs at 45 mph - you name it, it was sooo smooth. That said, I PCSed (moved) up to Alaska, and never really used it again. If you're not near a desert, the Raptor is too wide to off road, since all the trails are for trucks at least 8-10" narrower. The Tacoma has everything I want in a truck, nice ride, good looks, not as powerful, but neither is it as thirsty. I'm very happy with my trade, since I'll be getting out of the military and staying in Alaska for another 6-10 years, and the Tacoma is hands down a great truck.
I'm just trying to figure out what I'd have to do to mount my Raptors winter tires on my Taco - 285/65/17 toyos. My Taco is completely stock, I got it for $23K with a clean title, clean car fax, winter and summer tires and an auto start from a guy from Thailand who could barely speak English and just wanted out from his payments. I'm pretty sure that for the second time on a car purchase I got the better end of the deal (the first being the Raptor)! Anyway, this is my first post, and it's maybe a little bit of a necro-thread, but you'll love your Raptor, and I love my Tacoma!

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
A s/c taco is gonna be putting out around 350 HP won't its with exhaust mods and what not right? Plus weight 3500 less? I figure that all and all they'd pull about the same. I wouldn't go as far as sayin 2.7 vs 4.0 anyway.
