I'm looking at a new DC long bed Taco used mostly for work purposes. I live in the Washington DC area and occasionally have to go into the city. Right now I drive a 2wd base tacoma that fits in parking garages and parallel parks with ease. Just curious what other people experiences have been driving / parking a DC Long bed into the city...

I agree with other posters. If you back into the spot then it's not an issue. I always try to put the bed of the truck over a curb, grassy area when I back in. I wouldn't want to be one of those guys that my ass end of my truck sticks out of the stall.

Having owned a dc long bed, dc short bed, ect cab, and regular cab. In my opinion the dclb is a pain to park. If you are currently driving a regular cab, the dclb is a whole different world.

Not being able to park a DCLB is driver error IMO

I think a DCLB would be a giant pain in the ass in DC. When I lived out there, parking my DCSB was painful enough on the street.

I went from a forester to an Audi a3 to a scion xb to a DCLB. The only parking pains I've had are finding a spot big enough to parallel in, and that's a rare problem. The camera....use it. No problemo.

I was just in the city last weekend, parked by the capitol building on the street. No issues. It is cramped there though. And the gas is like a million dollars.

I'm lifted 3"with an OME lift. It has been pretty close in some of the parking garages up three, but not horrible.

I am frequently in DC and I can park with the best of them. My DCSB is easy to park, but thats not the issue. Parking in DC is a nightmare!!! Finding a spot on the street that is big enough to parallel park in is tough. I promise you that at least one, if not both, of the vehicles in front of and behind will be so close that it will be difficult to get out. We took my Tahoe to DC 2 months ago, what a nightmare. When I parked it it was fine. We came back and it took 10 minutes of forward and back movement to get it out. People in DC do not give a damn about anyone else parked around them. In DC they like parallel park using the braille method, back in until you hit something, pull forward until you hit something else, then split the difference.

Parking a DCLB is a PITA. Its doable though. Parallel parking, just back into it like normal. If you get into a parking garage though.... thats where its not fun. I usually have to 4 point to get in and out of the tighter spots.

Normal parking spots you'll almost always back in.

The way I see it though, you're just driving a full size truck. If you're used to that, it will be no problem for you.
