yes it drives right. with larger tires added it grabs the dips in the road now. before i put a stabilizer on and it solved the problem. i never said nobody elses truck doesnt do that. all i asked if there was akit available. a simple no could have fixed that. yes i have a print out and according to the numbers posted above it is correct. this is my first taco so assuming that kits are only available for the older trucks then they had a different steering setup

Sorry OP just trying to help you out. For people like you I would advise calling a shop. They will be able to hook you up with everything you need.

Looks like the OP got his answer so excuse my hijack, but I believe it pertains to the topic at hand. XXXX, you posted the specs that lifted Tacomas should strive for and it is probably the reason I'm experiencing the same thing the OP is feeling. I feel like my front end is too stiff and feel everything (more so than on my last two lifted tacos). Here are my caster specs:

    Left: 1.6
    Right: 2.0

Camber is 0.4 on both sides.

From your experiences will the caster deviation of 1 degree provide a harsher ride?

    Thanks

Low caster creates a wandering problem (grabbing grooves in the road) because the mechanical trail is reduced, reducing the tendency for the wheel to self center. Think of it like a caster wheel on an office chair, if the pivot was right in the middle of the wheel it would not be as stable as if it were offset (like they are).

    way to high IMO.

I'm running much less then that and my truck is fully armored. I would run some stripes of chalk across the tires and then air them down until you are getting full contact. right now your driving in ice skates

    Sorry...I'm an asshole

    hell yea

okay, that makes sense, thanks for the info. with my lower caster I don't wander at high speeds or grab grooves. I still plan to go back and get the desired specs. BTW, the shop I went to specializes in lifted trucks too.

doesn't matter. every shop will have the same specs on the computer and it all depends on the mechanic. Personally I got my first alignment done by a guy who does just about everyone's Taco in the NE and also sets up MJP2's truck. He put me on 0, 0, 2.9. Unless they are testing and tweaking the alignment for a particular model and take note of the sweet spot they won;t know anything more then what the computer says. Even with that said your trucks not in specs for a stock truck if my memory is correct.

    its everything combined
1st its a spacer lift ,witch removes allot of the available down travel, tire rolls into a dip ,no travel left ,you well feel it in the wheel ,i know i had the spacer lift, there junk
    2nd 48 psi ,omg, try 35
3rd no UCA's,we all no there is no way the stock arms can get caster that high with 285 size tires he can be at 2.5 /2.8 is better an be OK, but no way you can get 0 toe 0 camber an caster 2.5 or higher on stock arms,
get rid of the spacer an get 5100s at 1.75,an you wont need UCA's,but would be better with
    have a nice day:)

exactly! My mistake was not knowing the desired specs beforehand and telling the tech to get me there. Hell, I bought the damn LR UCA's for propper specs so I better get them.

    Camber @ 0 to -.01

    caster left 2.4 right 2.9

toe is .05 on each side

Treat others how you wish to be treated. Your new and immediately you call people names, and you expect to be treated like an adult? And also if you had used the search function (or at least google) you would have found this has been asked before

    This, kdawwwg naiked it!!! ^…

I should have paid more attention to the type of lift the OP has..spacer lift takes away down travel just as kdawwwwg mentioned. And no aftermarket UCA's ? Sorry OP but the shop you were at maybe a "very reputable shop". Unfortunately it appears they don't have any experience working on newer tacomas.

and Pat, settle down, breath.... XXXX was actually giving you some good advice, his delivery may not be the best, but he tries.
Steering stablizers are just band aids for a bigger problem. Read Kdawwwg's post, it pretty much spells it out.

I will re check my pressures. lowering my truck with the 5100's will give me more problems than i have. its fact that larger/wider tires grab the road more than stock and that stabilizers are a fix not a band aid...im guessing everyone is reading this wrong and/or i didnt explain well enough...it doesnt rip the wheel out of my hands I just feel it more than stock...its not a huge deal to me. i was wondering if the make a kit...and im assuming no. thank you to eveyone who has helped me
