The "stealership" is informing me that I have to pay extra to get the tow-package. However, I thought that it came standard with the TRD Sport? Being that it jumps up in price by nearly $3500?! I just put the invoice in for my brand new truck, and got it for 30100 out the door, to include the ttl. So what gives are they not telling me something. I've searched the internet for whats included---NO WHERE to be found. HELP?!!!!

Look at this truck, its the exact same one as mine. And, it has the details just like mine did. The guy in the youtube video, states, "that's standard with the TRD Sport package..." "...look at what you get for that price..."

    Am I missing something?

Tow package is not standard on anything. Try edmunds for the packages and what's included in each.

Correct, and also, if you have a Costco membership, you can go online, use the autobuying service, and enter the model information. It will give you back the dealer invoice data. Then you can go from there.

In Canada the tow package is standard on the Sport/Sr5 models.

    Also,

I have never seen an access cab TRD Sport, is that new for the USA market?

    Don't panic!

The tow package is usually an option. As far as I know the package consists of a the receiver hitch, trailer wiring and a different fan clutch. You could save yourself a ton and go to your local U-Haul (or trailer/hitch dealer) and have them install the hitch and wiring, the fan clutch you can do yourself.

Does anyone have more specific (and probably more accurate) info on the tow package?

Larger alternator, transmission oil cooler (AT), class IV receiver, 7-pin connector and pre-wired for a brake controller.

Tow package consists of receiver , 7 pin wiring. Bigger alternator, tranny cooler, already set up for brake controller. I think that is all I can think of

All Tacomas have an anti-sway bar. There is no anti-sway bar specific to the tow package.

Man, even though I dropped some cash the vehicle is being built and according to them; they say it may take at least 2-4weeks before I get it.
So, I take that as a no, no TOW package standard. Well thats sh*t, I figured if you pay big money you should. Well, at 30100 out the door a good price then?

Well, they sure did make the 2nd gens overly complicated, didn't they.

Ignore my advice. But, with all of those additions, one would think that it would be way easier and cheaper to find a truck that already has those options from the factory.

That sounds right to me. Here in the northeast there are two different sport and two different off road packages. One with the tow package and one without. The packages with tow included are about $600 more.

I just paid $4,200 extra for my 13 TRD OR with tow, but could have gotten the TRD OR without tow for only $3,600 extra.

I think that "stealership" is giving you a good deal. I just paid $30,800 + ttl for my 13 TRD OR with tow + front skid plate + bed mat. Basically the same price as your getting and I checked with 6 different dealers in the tri-state area to get that price.

Just tell them if they want to sell a truck to include it in the deal....most of the time they won't let a deal go just because of an option.

    Good luck man!

If they have not built the truck yet, tell them to add it at the factory or cancel the order. If you get the dealership to add everything it will cost way more money.

It's cheaper if you buy a truck with the tow package already installed. As reference, I got my 13 AC V6 4x4 TRD Sport Auto with Tow package for 30k before ttl.

Also keep an eye on what you are actaully getting. The factory tow package is installed at the factory I believe, not at the port or at the dealer. There are ports and dealers that add a "tow package" but it's not the factory package and tends to include just the hitch, not the alt, trailer brakes or the tranny cooler.
