I hope you did not pay them for first repair (actuator swap)
I had been repeating the same thing for some time. When you get funky flushing lights wit h4 wd drive system your troubleshooting should involve.
    1. Listening for acutators if you hear them running
    2. Check those switches that tell computer if system is in lock position.
Those cheap switches fail and do get stuck. (its a tiny bearing ball on the pin pushed by $0.01 spring. They had been common problem thats why dealerships have full stock of them.

I paid for the first repair, but not the second one. They replaced the second failed actuator for free and didn't charge me any labor for replacing the rear diff lock switch that they think is what caused the new actuator to fail so soon. I only paid for the price of the new diff lock switch ($88). I feel like I got pretty good service from the dealership on this one. Just wish I had had more time to dig into it the first time it happened and I might have saved some money on the first repair. Oh well.

    PSU is right

Yep those switches last time I check were $5 a piece , maybe $8 now.
If they charged $88 for that lock switch it was ripoff.

I hear you but I didn't really have a choice. Truck was stuck in 4wd, dropped it off at the dealer to get it fixed. Can't really tell them I don't want them to replace the part that they found that is bad that they think is causing the actuator to go bad when they are replacing the actuator under warranty.

Just looked at the invoice and the part number is 84222-12010, which is the transfer indicator switch. Cheapest online price is about $60 so I don't think the dealer price is too bad.

Dont feel bad, at least it is fixed, Its something to keep in mind for next time if it happens. You can check those switches yourself under the truck. They usually are two wire grey plugs.

I have. And his fervor and style of communicating have certainly ruffled my feathers in the past, as well. Now, I mostly ignore him. Still, the post struck me as rude. Maybe I feel that way because I got the same first impression that SGT Taco was trying to shift from 4Lo to 4Hi while in Park.

    Enough distraction from the thread.

I don't copy and paste past posts... I saw someone asking for help, and I took the time to offer some... it may not have been the help he needed, but it was one answer that could help others: If you try and go out of L4 without the shifter being in Neutral or the clutch depressed, you hear beeping... It is that simple.

Obviously it was something other than that, but since he didn't specifically say he performed those steps, it is best to cover the obvious with what little detail had been provided. If you don't like my answer, or it didn't apply... then just pass on and wait for the dozens of more you know will come on this forum. The main point is I did not give any false information... and nobody ever should on purpose. I only wish to help and am not ever here for any drama, okay amigos?
