slop in the steering shaft fix?
Crawled under truck today to do some investigatin of my steering as usual, always hopeful for a fix to my wobbly steering...damn truck..... anyways.. i noticed i have quite a bit of rotational play in the shaft before it enters the steering box. i also have a bit of side to side play and up and down play, specifically, where the shaft passes through the firewall. anyway to fix this without putting in a cardone rack? i thought about wrapping the shaft in teflon, then drilling a hole or using an existing hole in the frame nearby, and running a metal tie through the hole, around the shaft, and back through to eliminate the side to side play? just throwing out ideas here i know that sounds crazy.
