I have an '09 Dbl cab long bed 4x4 with tow pkg.that has a factory yellow sticker on the door jam above the tire pressure one the states that " a modification has been done to this vehicle that reduces the load capacity by 290 lbs. "
    What is this all about?

mine says that too, i assume it means that all the weight of the equipment that has been added to the base model (SR5, TRD packages) has therefor decreased the total hauling (not towing) capacity. correct me if im wrong.

Yea I know it's a weird one but do non 4x4's have one? If not then that explains it.

Toyota - " a modification has been done to this vehicle that reduces the load capacity by 290 lbs. "

Actually - "We are still installing the three leaf springs, counting on you not being a TW member and learning about the TSB "

Joking. It probably has do with some variation in the standard equiptment, like stated above.

So all the leaf spring TSB's for 05-08 still will apply eventually to my AUG08 made '09??

Some of them I'd say, I had to wait a few months for them to add my 08 to the list.

So any ideas where to get the real info on this? We already know dealers usually don't know crap and the area I'm in is just small enough that I'd never trust any of them.

strange that a stiffer "off road tuned" suspension would reduce payload... I guess it allows them to to continue to advertise a competitive payload then rescind it later.

My regular cab 4x4 SR5 has the same sticker. I can't imagine what would have been added.

Have checked my P/N on the leaf springs and they are the G code p/n covered under the latest TSB, again build date of AUG08 so maybe this is a CYA thing from the corporate lawyers
