That is awesome!!! I agree with northern1 too as this post is the reason I bought a Tacoma and have driven Toyotas most of my life.

I saw this truck yesterday and met John. His truck is amazing and looks so good. It does not look like it has 300k on it but I saw the odometer. Happy travels and I will be watching for the 400K post in about two years!

Great write up and a great truck. Will you be trying for the 400K mark?
So much for the old wife's tail about not breaking an engine in on synthetic motor oil.

Holy frick! How did your 2nd set of wheel bearings last that long?

Not just original TOB, but with the non-TSB fork... amazing.

Excellent Job. I'm impressed. This goes to prove a few things and not least of which that it pays to keep your vehicles maintained.

    Keep on Truckin'

This is a very inspirational thread. I'm aiming for 400k kms on my truck and everything after will be a bonus. :p

You'll get there, just be good to it and do routine maintenance. My goal with mine is a stretch, but I wanna drive it to retirement if possible, I am going to be a park ranger so will likely have a work truck that will be driven mostly during the week and the Tacoma on weekends so it is possible, but a stretch haha.

If I read that right, he only replaced the original front wheel bearings at 293,800 miles. Pretty amazing. I think aftermarket wheels are a big contrubuting factor to the early failures. It's also true the bearings could be more robust.

Congrats! Makes me feel good about only having 80k on my 05. I should be able to get another 20 more years out it :D I also think you should send Toyota your story. A girl from here who drag races an older corolla sent in pictures and they put her on the website.
