I have a 2005 4x4 and all I do is change fluids. its nice to see the 2006 go over 300k miles. I have 51,000k on mine. I have bought 7 new ones and will own nothing else. yes, the mileage should be better but its a low geared truck so that explains that. the 2nd generation has more sway in the front end but is a much better truck. I should replace the stock shocks but after owning the previous models and going over wash board dirt roads, I will leave it alone, its much better. the older versions would beat you to death. this one fly's over wash boards roads.
I wasn't pleased with the servo switch low range 4x4 but its held up after original warranty fix's. I do not us it much in Arizona. the low mileage is because I'm retired now. great truck and has held its value too![IMG]

This cracks me up. I remember there was a big deal about people who did not believe you had gotten to 250K. They claimed Photoshop and all kinds of shenanigans.

Every time I think i might get a new truck I think of your truck.

Thats one hell of a ROI.

    Thanks for the comments.

I had it out this weekend, on the trails in the San Jaun Range in southwestern Colorado.

Here are a couple pics from Engineer Pass Road from near Ouray, over Engineer Pass to Lake City. Also towed a pop-up trailer to CO and back.

Just so you know, you are also now famous over on the Expedition Portal. Your thread came up when someone questioned the reliability of the Taco over there.

I love it! 327k mi. and still confident to do stuff like that. I hope you don't get rid of it anytime soon. I'm looking forward to the next milestone!

Thanks for the comments. I will look at Expedition Portal to see if I can find that thread.

I put Pelfreybuilt IFS and mid skids on the Tacoma last week.

As an update, the truck is now at 332k miles.

This is the reputation we expect from a toyota. The hilux diesels run up into the 2-300k mile ranges and still go strong.

If i may ask, how do you keep track of all your maintenance so it's easy to search for things?

I log it all on the Toyota Owners site, which has all the dealer performed service records as well. Makes it easy to see exactly how long since last oil changes, etc.

Thanks OP for putting in the time to make this thread! I love seeing real examples of just how well built our trucks are.

Anyone know who here has the highest mileage 2.7?

I saw one guy had close to 400k miles on his 4-banger. I think the link is somewhere in this thread.
