I found a 06 DC TRD sport with 86,000 miles on the internet. I'm definitely gonna talk them down. My question is do you think 17,900 is a fair price?

It's in the ballpark. I paid $16,500 for an 06 TRD OR with almost identical mileage. The haggling started at $17,500 though.

It's in ok condition in my opinion . It's an 06. It only has 81,000 miles. It drives good though. Just took it for a spin. Time to talk business.

I didn't take any pics. I know I should've . I'm a rookie at this. I did take a look at the underside. Just some surface rust. Motor looks like its in good shape.

The carpet needs some detailing. Small cracks in the leather seats. Everything on the dash works. Interior looks good.

Forgot to check the carfax. It's at a certified Toyota dealer. So I know they have records. I guess I have some more homework to do.

If the records come back good. What's the most should I pay for this truck?

I paid 17,500 for my 06 that is listed in my profile. That was three years ago, it had 41K miles on it. It's a stick shift and it's an Access cab, so that lowers the price a bit. Aside from a small cigarette burn on the driver's seat it was/is in VERY good condition. Using that as my guide, I think they want way too much for the truck you're looking at. Look up the KBB trade in value, that's what they paid for it, make them an offer, the end of the month is coming up soon!

Ok. Thanks for the advise everybody. I'll keep you posted. I'm going to go for a second look if the records look good. I'll make them an offer.

In what condition though? Retail Excellent is what most dealers try to get. If they have no service records for it, and it needs detailing, repairs, even if the tires are half worn out, it's not in "Retail excellent" condition.:) Good luck.

You are going to get a lot of different answer asking here. Used vehicle values are different all over the country, so just because someone in Missouri paid less for the same truck two years ago with half the miles, doesn't mean that the one you are looking at is over priced. If its in good shape and you like it, you have to ask yourself what it is worth to you

I would not pay that for an 7 almost 8 year old truck. Plus they probanly bought that truck for 11k during trade in.
