Me and my family do allot of nordic skiing. Put my rack on yesterday and went to go through the parkade (the one I have to park in everyday) and the truck wont fit with the rack on the top. I dont want to take it on and off to go skiing (skii 2 to 3 times a week (mostly at night)).

The rack I have is pictured. Mine is not the new quick release type.

Here is a question. Could I mount this on top of my hardshell tonneau cover by drilling through it. Can you drill through the fiberglass without really causing a problem.

I am not just going to put 5 pairs of skii's in the back even though it is the easiest solution.

    Thanks

    Rob

I've drilled through fiberglass and it turned out fine. I did go back and put some resin on the cut just to make sure it wasn't going to come apart. Don't know how that would work for a hard shell though.

sure.. just put a good bead of clear silicone around the screws/bolts going into the tonneau while screwing them in. Then put a small amount on your finger and work it around the top of the bolt once it is secure and in place.
