I have a 2007 Tacoma 4x4 w/ about 67k miles on it and i noticed that when im going around 30 MPH with my windows down it sounds like my brake are rubbing and it even does it when i brake, like a high pitch squel if i right like a rock in rubbing. Am i do for new brake pads???? I dont know anything about brakes. Is it just the pads that need replacing or rotors. I have no Idea....HELP!!!!!!

It's possible that you need brakes. But to know for sure you need to pull the wheels and look at the pads. I'll try to find some pics of how they should look.

If they look this thin you need brakes.

Pads from the dealer are like 65 to 80 bucks. If you can do it yourself it will save you lots of money. If your rotors are in good shape (no pulsation in the pedal or steering wheel) then you only need to do the pads.

If you refer back to the picture you'll see how easy it is. The two rods at the top and bottom of the caliper slide out and you just pull the pads out the top of the caliper. Don't forget to compress the pistons with the old pads and a flat screwdriver or you'll never get the new pads in. Once your done don't forget to pump the pedal a few times before driving to build up pressure.
