Going to take the truck to Kendall Toyota in Anchorage to have the spiral cable TSB evaluated.

Anyone who has had this done have any input with regard to how long it took? Don't really want to spend half a day at the stealership when I could be heading south to Seattle...

Also, snapped a TPMS sensor off a wheel when I mounted/balanced my tires myself. Should I anticipate a shit storm about how the dealership finds it necessary to replace the sensor? The idiot light on the dash is lit up solid.

    Too many to list now.
Those guys in there are pretty cool about that stuff in my experience. Also, they moved Kendall, it's on old Seward now, by dowling. No longer downtown. Lemme know if you need a ride anywhere with the rig down. If I'm available I'd be glad to help out.

Spiral cable only took them about an hour on mine I think.

took my 08 in for the 40k miles service. they also replaced the spiral cable on it. took at least less than 3 hours at the most. I guess depends on how busy the service department is.

to solve TPMS light issue, takes 5 mins, and a wire splice connector.

    1. pop out AC/HVAC control panel
    2. reach in hole and pull out red box (TPMS ECU)
    3. cut red wire going into red box
    4. connect red wire in with blue wire, KEEP BLUE WIRE CONNECTED
    5. profit.

this puts 5ohms on the TPMS circuit so it will read that the system is fine, and you wont have a light on. do it before you go! you can always re-connect red wire if you feel like it when you get a new sensor, or fuck it and leave it like i am! got rid of all my sensors.

Right on! Yeah, I was still thinking they were downtown - glad I didn't try and find them. From the brief time I spent in anchor town last year, there are some insane drivers there!

Last year the techs spent about 20 mins drooling over my truck. It was gratifying.

Reading those instructions I'm waiting for Steven Segal to pass me the wire snips to disarm the bomb on the jet full of elementary school kids haha.

Yeah, those TPMS sensors are such a load of horse shit.

yea they are, steven segal wouldnt know how to disable a TPMS system, worthless fuck. super easy though, and could make a buck on the sensors on CL or here as there are people who think they fill the tires with air when they get below a certain point

Hahahaha for sure... Yeah there are little C02 cartridges that automatically inflate the tires.

You'd be amazed at the shit I see engineering on fishing boats. 3 wires spliced together all different gauge, to make a run of about 4 feet. On an engine alarm system, no less.

Let's see... Oxy/Acetylene torches with broken $300 regulators because some asshat thought that's how you shut the tank off - by cranking on the regulator.

Ignoring a low coolant level on a brand new $50,000 generator and running it for 5 hours, losing all your coolant through a hole in the oil cooler - toasting your non- sleeved main bearings in the process...

    That about takes the cake.

I had my spiral cable replaced under recall yesterday, as well as the pedal chop/ reflash. Was told 2 hrs for both, but it was sitting outside completed in under an hour and a half. Another 15-20 for the $0.00 invoice to be printed and my keys retuned as the service writers were running mad. Sprial cable alone, should be about an hour.
