Like the title says I have a 05 tacoma that has 103000 miles on it. And I have a 05 duramax with 59000 miles both lifted with wheels and tires. I got to sale one and I can't decide. Love them both!! I owe a little more on the dmax. However if I sale the dmax the tacoma will be paid for. So its a toss up. What do you guys think. !????

Gee, since this isn't a duramax forum, i would be inclined to think the majority of opinions here would say to sell the duramax

Well IMO, I tend to think the Toyota is going to still be around long after your Duramax starts becoming a hassle to keep running. Doesn't sound like you need a heavy-duty truck for the things you do. I'd ditch the duramax.

hmm. that would be a hard one for me as well. one thing i would consider is. do you do a lot of towing and need the Dmax? or will the taco tow anything that you need too? if the taco will tow and do everything you need it to i say sell the Dmax.

OP, I have beefed up the suspension on my 07 and towed/hauled WELL in excess of the rated limits, not that I recommend anyone do what i did but it does speak to the toughness of the Tacoma. With a few mods that are not very expensive, your Tacoma could easily do whatever your Dmax does.

Why do you care what they think? You will have a better truck with the Taco. It may not be a powerhouse or roll coal all over but the quality of it is higher than gm. You can't dog the duramax powertrain though, those engines run forever and the allison transmission is bulletproof.

Sell the duramax. Seriously tell them to STFU and learn what a great truck Tacomas are. Like said above your Tacoma will be around far longer and give you less trouble than your duramax will ever even into high mileage. Provided your Tacoma meets all your needs and towing ability and such its the far better choice. Better MPG, better truck, (paid off i believe?), plus imo id rather drive a tacoma than any other truck for the reasons above.

Sell the Duramax, keep your Tacome. Love it and enjoy it and rub it in your friends face on how much they spend in gas a year and how much more you save.
