My 2 cents: Buy a commonly available tire (in a commn size), like the BFG.
You never know when you will have a blowout or un-repairable puncture and you need to get it replaced ASAP.

I have always bought my tires at Discount tire and got the road hazzard. Twice in my life, I was on the road out of town and had to get a tire replaced....much easier to be on your way when it is a common tire they will have in stock.

Of course if you have a full size spare of the same tire, this isnt a problem.

    Good luck with your choice.

tirerack.com lists the white letter on 10 ply only for 285/70/r17 bfg t/a kos ... which is load range e

Thanks. But no spacers. That is stock suspension with 265/75/16 like the OP asked to see.

I love my BFG's they are super quiet and from what evey one says they last a long time. 275/70/17 no rubbing.

I have the BFG AT's and love them as well but another tire getting great reviews from a local club out here is the Goodyear Duratracs.

This...so many better options than the bfg. I really think the only reason they sell so well is the look.

I know it is not what you asked but I have the TOYO MT's 255/85/16's , They are quite as hell even at 75 MPH. One reason I chose the E rating is that it is very rocky here in Arizona and I have a few buddies who tore thru the side wall of the BFG AT's, especially when at 12 PSI and the tire is flattened out a bit.

    My $0.02!

I understand the sidewall of a bfg 8 ply is the same as the sidewall of a bfg 10 ply - only difference is on the tread'ed (flat) portion. The tire guy could have been talking out of his @$$ though.

I have the bfg 10 ply and love them. wearing well and good mileage.
