Now she doesnt want to get our insurance involve and just wants to pay for the damage to Eloisa!

Should I get the insurance involve?

    Eloisa??? Goofy name....

Um if she wants to just give you money, I'd say go for it.... Make sure you get a GOOD estimate of the damage first, don't wanna be short changed.

Get your insurance involved. I have heard of too many cases where someone says i will fix it and gets burned.

You want to get the insurance involved so you can get it thoroughly inspected and repaired correctly. There could be more additional hidden damages that may not be obviously visible that you will never be able to collect from her if you bypass the insurance.

If the lady is that airheaded she might even forget this accident happened.

I say insurance. I would think it's not going to raise your rates or anything, so why not.

I hope that you at the very least noted all her info and insurance, because without a police report or witnesses, it will be your word against hers. She could easily say that you were in the wrong lane and hit her. I would let your ins. co know about it and call her insurance to file a claim ASAP. Unfortunately, there is also a good chance she wanted to bypass her insurance because she doesn't have any.

One benefit to not getting insurance involved - you can keep the collision off Carfax, etc., so it doesn't devalue your truck at time of sale.

my wifes Accord was hit in a parking lot. (minor damage totaling just over $1,000.00)

older gent who hit her car went into the restaurant to look for the car owner. they exchanged info.

wife went to dealership and got estimate. forwarded the estimate to the man.

he replied with a letter of apologies and a check for the estimate amount.

there are still some honorable souls left.

Red Flag- there are many reasons why people avoid insurance and its usually a bad thing. Always get a police report, regardless, but thats why we have insurance!

Do not under any circumstances go the NON insurance route, I don't care who the other person is make sure your insurance is involved. Several years ago I was in a parking lot and a snow plow driver backed into me, completely wrecked my front quarter and broke my radiator. I stupidly felt bad for the guy and didn't get insurance involved and instead let his body repair shop friend fix it.

It looked ok after it was fixed so I thought it was good, but a year later another idiot woman ran a red light and wrecked the same area of my poor truck. This time I took it to a shop I wanted and used my insurance, turns out the parts the first place used were cheesy crap parts and they did a half assed job of putting it together.

    So yeah, use your insurance.
