Mine has been off for a year, and I havent noticed any negative effects. Even swerved to avoid an accident on the freeway at about 50mph and no excessive rolling. If you put better shocks/coils on, it compensates for loss of the swaybar.

I took mine off 2 years ago. Noticed alittle body roll in sharp corners but nothing that really has me to worried. Take it off and if you dont like it you can always put it back on.

    My observations:

Normal driving is smoother, I can go over rain gutters and speed bumps at diagonal angles without being thrown left and right in the cab. Driving on uneven surfaces along the road tends to pull me towards the lower side of the road.

Off-road much better articulation, more droop on the front tires individually, but doing donuts in the dirt or fishtailing scares the absolute hell out of me. I actually got two wheels in the air one time fishtailing a corner.

You can't rally your truck through turns after you take it off (not that you should be while it's on) but I like it with it off. I have King coilovers up front with the #650 coils cranked down a little and I believe it rides better than with it on. Softer springs would probably suck, though.

YOU WILL BE MISSED Satoshi Grill, FX-R retros, husky liners, bed bolt d-rings, TRD short throw shifter, 2.5 Fox Coil overs, AP UCA's, AP Expo rear leaf with Fox 2.0 shocks, Extended SS brake lines, AP kick-out sliders, 265/75/16 on Konig Countersteers, AllPro Apex front bumper and Zip Ties.
Take it off. I had the same apprehensions as you but I haven't looked back since. I definitely think that good coil overs on the front make the difference though. I'm running Fox 2.5's and I drive in a "spirited" manner without concern. If you search this forum I think you'll find most drivers are pleased with the handling on road but certainly off road is its purpose.

I have taken mine off before. It was on my 07 tacoma DC LB. i had Icon ext. travel coilovers. And the ride was way smoother and it had better articulation. But on corners or even onramps, it leaned way too much. So i put it back on.

I was going to take it off my 12' with 885's and nitro shocks to see how it handkes. Its a AC so it should have less roll then my 07.

I took mine off and really liked it cause of the flexibility it gave me when off roading, but I had to put it back on cause I was getting too much flex and my plate bumper was on the verge of ripping my fenders off.

If you live in a area with salt or rust issues you might want to think twice about it if you plan to put it back on easily.

Reason I mention this is that a few members have taken it off and in the process the nut welded internally on the frame broke loose and they cannot reinstall the bar now.

You need to reweld the nut back on or by removing the whole front bumper and support to get the nut in there.

my ac is bone stock and i love the way it rides. no different than an old cadillac. the roll is only noticeable when braking hard into a corner or jerking the wheel back and forth

There is a slight difference. I ran it off for a while but havent gone wheeling lately so I reinstalled it back on.. Im running ome 885. Softer spring rates will have more difference.
