    Is that a serious question?

Yes there's a 60 page thread on pirate saying they're rebranded t-max winches and attesting to the quality of them. As noted, only downfall are the poorly sealed solenoids. This problem also plagues Warn occasionally though, not so much with Superwinch's albright solenoid.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I plan on getting a Warn. Maybe a Xeon 10-S. FYI they are based in Clackamas.

I've done this rant before but why not.

They make industrial winches and that tech and bombproof building filters down to their line of hobby winches.

Hey Max, I read your thread on R4x4 about sealing up your Smittybuilt. I was curious if you know any thing about the reverse gears on them. My Smittybuilt burned up the motor on a really tough day of pulling in the rocks. Long story short they sent me a new motor as it was still under warranty. After installing that, my reverse gear appears to have blown out. I would like to use it on my taco (since I scored a warn 8274 for the jeep) but not if I can't figure out the reverse.

m8000s on mine, got plenty of use last weekend. 4wd wouldnt engage and had to climb 3 two ft drops just with the winch and rear wheel drive.

I have to throw my vote behind the Smittybuilt XRC8 as well. As delivered (no mods), I've had no problems whatsoever.

I've had the planetary sets out a couple times. I'm not sure what you mean reverse. Have you pulled the planetary sets out to see what's up?

Just try to keep them in order as you pull them out. Lay them all out in a pattern. You can find exploded diagrams online though to help just in case.

Theres also a couple fiber washers that IIRC were hard to see on the diagram so be mindful when you pull them out.
