When I purchased my truck 4 years ago I was getting 20 mpg's on the highway and 17 in town. I currently now get 15 highway and 13 town. It's an 06 with 106,xxx miles. My driving habits are the exact same and for the 15mpgs on the highway was straight from Phoenix to Blythe ca all Highway driving and didn't go above 2500 rpm. Anyone have any suggestions on what could possibly be wrong?

When's the last time you changed Spark plugs? Air filter? Cleaned/replaced MAF sensor?

Plugs and such, I noticed my mileage nosing over a bit as I approached my 30K interval plug replacement. Once replaced it went right back where it was before.

Also check your tire pressure... mine had dropped 5psi w/out the warning light turning on. Dunno what the tolerance on the tpms is, but I always check once per month.

None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
Issues with low MPG's in the past were typically solved with new plugs and/or air filter.

New solution also included non-ethanol gas www.pure-gas.org

Haven't cleaned my MAF in the 2+ years I've had the truck, about 45k miles, so I should probably look there as well

As far as I know, you can remove the MAF, clean with electrical or carb cleaner, and let air dry. Dont touch or try to wipe dry...Repeat as necessary. I would recommend looking into it before you ruin something tho...

Cleaning the sensor is extremely easy. CRC makes a "Mass Air Flow" cleaner for about $10.00. Just pull the electrical plug to the sensor, remove the two screws and lift the sensor up and out (pay attention to direction it came out for re-installation). Then with the straw attachment on the can direct the straw up into the tube holding the very small (looks like a little resistor) sensor, DO NOT TOUCH THE SENSOR! Give the sensor 10 or so short blasts of the cleaner (as per can directions) and then allow it to dry for about 5-10 minutes (dries very fast and does not leave any residue). Re-install and the ECU should shortly react to the new readings and adjust your air fuel mixture accordingly. I clean mine every six months.

NOTE: Read can directions before starting.
