    Those aren't "Rat Rods"

    Rat Rods are nickle and dimed together out of a pile of parts as the owner has time and money to work on the project. Generally left in primer.
    They are minimalist... they hit the road with the bare minimum to make them driveable.

    Taking a $15,000 vehicle and making it look rusty with red paint on the rims is not a rat rod.

    Same goes for "bobber" bikes.

    Did he sandblast all the paint off and let it rust? Thing looks 20 years old, at least it wasn't a 4x4 that got sacrificed though

    Yes this is REAL. I've seen this truck in person, but it wasn't a chop top last time, this must be his newest mod. I actually commend him for taking on something that's never been done before on a second gen. Takes a lot of guts to take a torch to your body panels...
