Hi Everyone. I have a question about repairing a transmission leak on my 2007 V6 Double Cab. It's leaking a tiny bit of fluid right where the transmission connects to the driveshaft. There is a silver housing right where they meet, and this is where the fluid is showing up. I asked my mechanic about the leak, and he said that he can replace the bushings and or seals at that location and it should take car of the problem. My question is, does he need to drain the transmission in order to do the repair? I just recently did a flush on my transmission and I would hate to have that gone to waste. Thanks for the help.

nope you dont need to drain the trans also it wouldnt waste flushing your trans because the flush is to get contaminants out and now that they are out draining and adding new oil wouldnt put contaminants back in it might waste the money spent on the new oil though.

I really hope the flush didn't cause the leak. The truck is a 2wd and has 74,000 miles on it. The flush was done at about 70,000 miles.

flush will not cause that seal to leak it's age related, seals wear out. seal should be less than 10 bucks and should be easy to replace, if done right you shouldn't lose more than a 1/2 cup of fluid or less

Thanks everyone for the help. TSB you say??? That would be awesome, but I still have to be under warranty don't I? I'd love to take a look at that TSB either way. Anyone have it or at least the number so I can look it up?

    Thanks again everyone!
