I'm sure it's happened many times. Successfully; safely.

It was a common occurrence to swap trunks in the Impreza world.

Might be hard to find a Sport owner willing to give it up though.

Seen a couple of threads, people with sport hoods wanting a regular hood. It does happen but very rarely.

Yea, I did it about a month ago. Also got rid of the chrome bumper for the color matched white bumper as well.

About two years ago it happened to me! Guy on CL posted that he wanted to trade his silver scooped hood for non scooped straight up. I had a silver truck back then. He lived less than 5 minutes from me. He had a prerunner and thought he was a poser to be 2wd with the scoop. This was probably one of the luckier days in my life.

I've wondered if there'd be a slight fuel mileage improvement with the non scooped hood. I would think the fake scoop adds drag. I've thought about getting an oem non scooped hood or CF hood because of this (but I'd keep the stock one for resale). I don't mind scoops, but I hate fake ones. I'm ok with fake boobs though.
