Hello I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and what an appropriate fix would be. When I shift my truck into 2nd gear(it is a 5 speed auto)the light on the dashboard which turns green in all other selected gears stays red.
I know the truck is in 2nd gear but the display doesn't recognize I have selected this gear.
    Thanks.

Are you talking about "D" to "4"? It is my understanding that "D" is actually an "overdrive" to assist in fuel economy but the tranny tends to shift sooner. Quite often I will put into "4" to prevent the tranny from shifting so soon(gears shift much smother) and then shift into "D" in a bit.

So the dash will say what gear you are in for all gears except 2nd? What does it say when you are in 2nd, something else or nothing? If nothing then the led died and you just need to replace it. If something else... I have no idea...

The light for "2" will not illuminate green when the 2nd gear is selected. I guess the bulb must be burned out. Funny that it would seeing it has hardly been used. Does anyone know the part number for the bulbs. 2008 Tacoma TRD.

Since it is rarely used I wouldn't even bother, unless of course you just want to replace all of them with some cool new color:D
