Alright so currently my truck is sitting on 5100s with eiback coils set to the 2nd setting from the bottom. AAL in the rear so the rear end is an inch or two higher than the front.

My problem is that my 285/70 17 Toyo's are rubbing real bad on the wheel well and fender flare in the front when turning. Just on the front of the tire not the back.

I think that if I adjust the strut to the next to highest setting or the highest that it will still be level with the rear and give me enough room to stop rubbing...

Anyone else run in to this problem? How much worse is the ride if I adjust them another inch or so?

So how much are you actually lifted up front? Mostly everyone has to trim that run 285's on here and its super easy....nothing a dremel cant take care of. ;)

After talking to local shops and reading on here it looks like I am going to be doing some trimming. Not sure what the exact amount of lift is but I think its about 2 inches.

Okay yeah most people I know running 285's have at least a 2.5" lift or 3" lift. I have a full 3"s up front and I still had to do some moderate trimming. Like I said, just get your hands on a dremel and it will only take a few minutes on each side. I'm assuming you took off your front mud guards?

There is some people on here that have posted pics of their trimming but honestly if you just turn your wheels and look at where its hitting....its pretty much common sense on where you will need to cut. Its super easy cause the plastic you will be trimming is super thin.

Just wanted to see how it looked before I went to town on it. Needed an excuse to buy a new dremel kit anyway...

5100's front set to .85 w/eibach springs, 5100 rear w/toytec 2"AAL, Light Race UCA, 17" Black Rhino Ocotillo wheels, 265/70/17 KO2's, K&N drop in filter, Grill Craft front mesh, one piece driveshaft (vibes gone) rear diff breather mod, BHLM, Fog anytime, 886 reverse bulbs.
From what I've read on here your not supposed to go above the 2nd setting when paired with eibacks to much preload and damage will occur

Start trimming. Lol. Even if you go higher, at full compression you are at the point as stock. The only way to get rid of all rubbing is to start trimming. The way I did mine was to run the tire for a couple days so I could see where it rubbed during normal driving. I trimmed a hair extra and it didn't rub even at full compression... Until I went to bigger tires and now I have to start trimming again...

On my last truck I used powdered chalk from Home Depot for snap strings. Put it all in the wheel well then turned the wheels to see where it was rubbing, i then trimmed those areas.
