Adjusting shiftpoints for larger tires

Is there a way to adjust the shift points? Ive searched and searched but cant find anything on it.

 

The shift points are probably integrated in the ECU. So you would have to reflash it somehow. It's not like the old TH350 which you could only turn a lil screw and thats it.

 

Theres one company who makes very costly shift kits/replacement valves.

 

how about a programmer or even a computer program? My truck does not like to shift into 5th on the hwy.

 

My last truck was a GMC and we could adj tire size and shift point with a lap top. I assume toyota would be the same

 

None that I've heard of.

im running 315/75/16's with stock 3.73's and my truck shifts into 5th no problem on the highway. really need to regear though, truck is to slow now lol

 

Maybe there's a difference between a 07 and 13s ecu. I have to let my foot completely of the gas for a few seconds for it to finally shift. I will call the dealer tomorrow but they're probably gonna tell me its because the tires and there is nothing i can do.

 

are you sure it's 4th-5th and not 5th-TC lock in 5th ?

 

im not sure what that feels like but ive put it in 4th and then to 5th and it still does it

 

The dealer cannot change your shift points. Shifting is controlled by the ECM, and they will only have access to the same program already loaded to the ECM.
