I have searched it, but no cigar. May not have looked for the key words good enough, but what has everyone come up with for the best paint to color match the super white? I'm going to spray my chrome grille surround and rear bumper. Not sure if its gunna be plasti dipped black, or going with the super white if I can get it close. What brand and color paint has everyone got to be the closest?

If you want super white you will have to have an auto shop mix it up and spray it for you. Anything else will look off.

I know I can't get a perfect match, just looking for closest just to get to of chrome right now. I just don't want to do black. I plan on getting the color matched surround, but not for another month or 2.

    A month or two...

Why not just wait and do it right?

Cuz I hate chrome. And a can of paint isn't gunna break the bank. 10 bucks and that is gone.

Just buy a new surround. Dorking about with trying to go over the chrome will leave you frustrated and disappointed.

I think a new one is $200 or so these days.

200 right before Xmas on a new surround won't go over too well with the wife. An I have done the chrome before, not hard or frustrating. I like the projects like this. If it turns out decent, I just saved $200 to go towards another mod.

I paid 7 bucks to get my stock chrome bumper media blasted. Then took it to a paint shop. They charged me 100 bucks to paint (was shit quality and has been replaced since) recently got a quote for another member at a quality shop. They said 250 for prep, primer, and paint. Just wait and do it right the first time. I hate chrome too, and learned to wait and do it right the first time.

    Also, our paintcode is 040.

I bought a base model grille off of a member on here and put that on my truck. While it is not color matched, It did get rid of the chrome.

The only $10 paint can you're going to get is Duplicolor and it will look like shit. The Duplicolor superwhite is very noticably different than the truck's base paint. I tried that and also Paintscratch.com. They mix paints and gaurantee it to match but it cost $75. The first batch didn't match, they mixed a second batch up for free. The second batch was a lot closer but still just didn't look right. I ended up finally just buying a 2011 color matched grille.

Basically, you aren't going to match Superwhite from a spray can. You can get fairly close if you spend a decent amount of money but no $10 can is going to do the trick. Krylong fusion white is an OK match, it's brighter but doesn't yellow out when you apply the clear coat like the Duplicolor and the Paintscratch cans did. It's also not as durable as the other brands but it's an option if you're just looking for a cheap way to make it white.

I think the Plasti-dip white matches about the best if going with a spray-can. Plus if you don't like it you can remove it.

Thank you! That's what I was looking for...as the title states, beat color match to super white, not for reasons to not paint my surround. I'm gunna try the plasti dip and see how it turns out.

Take off a piece of trim and go to your local auto paint supply store. They'll color match and make a spray can for ya for about $10. They might be able to get the color close from a paint code as well.

I've done this many times for various vehicle paints.

Just take it to a dealership and get it done right. I had them paint my hood scoop to match and they had told me that the super white has been out for so long that they have alot of different shades. They actually came out with the different paint chip shades to perfectly match my truck. Better to do it right the first time. Don't waste your money on a cheap rattle can. You get what you pay for.

It's an open forum and the opinions on this site are what have spawned some of the best mods to ever hit Toyotas. Be thankful for the knowledge on here.

Post up some pics of the finished product. Plasti-Dip was a genius suggestion since it's removable.
