Hi just new to the club and wondering if there is a way to increase my torque for pulling my rv. I have exhaust and intake already. Any other thoughts other than a supercharger. I don't need much more, but a little will help. Thanks in advance.

Have the truck tuned on a dyno. Tuning can make a huge difference.

Ended up with 50 more foot LBS from having my Subaru tuned. Car was turbocharged but hey, I bet they can pull some more from your truck as well.

According to Wikipedia, you gain 12 lb-ft by simply switching to 91 octane fuel, but it's impossible to notice a 4% gain by the seat of your pants.

    S/C is your best bet.

    Too few to list.
I don't think the OP wants to spend $4-5K on a SC. An electric fan frees up extra load in your engine, also re-gearing would be cheaper for extra pulling power.

Unfortunetly, the N/A 4.0L is not your subby. There are no real tuning solutions available.

OP, outside the S/C there really are no bolt-on mods that will help towing power. In fact, most will hurt low-end torque. Re-gearing can help but will hurt mpg when not towing.

With out a turbo tuning won't help much at all. Just raze the boost and you get the power gain. Just keep razing it till you blow a head gasket then crank it back a bit.

Short tube headers give you decent gains in a usable RPM range for towing.

Depending on what exhaust and intake you are running, going back to stock may improve lower end torque.

Contrary to popular belief...higher octane gas doesn't give you more power. Or fuel economy.

I do not agree with this, I found Unichip is making a plug & play device, and fully customizable considering all your actual mods.

Guess I'll let you find more here.

I realize you pointed that out... But it really isn't pertinent info. I mean, my mazdaspeed picked up 20ft-lb from a short-ram intake and a downpipe is worth 40ft-lb. But neither helps the taco at all!

Never said there were NO tuning solutions. Just not any real ones in regards to the OP's needs for towing

Unichip? Not very worthwhile, Try a search on here. URD Maf cal? Some benefit at WOT, but not goin to help with towing. So that leaves the AX-1. $1500 plus tuning costs to pick up what, 10hp on an N/A taco? I guess you consider going the Megasquirt route as well but that's a whole new bag of worms. Not to mention, most of these don't plug and play with 09+ and require wire splicing etc.

If you want power out of this engine, especially low RPM... Boost is the only real way to get there

When I can buy a trailer, S/C is right along with it.

No, it's not... short tube headers, some of URD's goodies for the computer (not the APR X-1), the NST manifold spacer, lighter pullies, lighter flywheel, exhaust and you'll have yourself a pretty decent N/A rig that will make power in a usable RPM range.

OP, more than likely your cold air intake is robbing you of some power in the low range but giving you gains up top. For towing, that might be hurting more than helping.
