So I plan to buy a 2013. I wish to god I could get a TRD off road with a 6 foot bed, but, alas, no can do. So, I am going down the road of trading in my 08 for a 13, and I'm wondering, if I buy a:

    Double cab 4x4
    long bed
    SR5
    Upgraded Nav JBL

Will be doing a OME 3 inch lift-->don't need "sport" suspension (I think?)

What more do I get by doing the sport package?
I already plan to satoshi my grill, so not worried about that, I can have the mirrors painted easy, I plan to do black rims so not too worried about those. I guess no scoop on the hood. What else?

That's about it. Color matched grill mirrors and rear bumper along with skewp are pretty much the only extras. And you're changing almost all them anyway.

TRD's also have different seats. Some say they are better, although I don't mind my SR5 seats at all

Only '05-'08 have a mechanical LSD, '09 up has the same basic traction controls that base and SR5 models do

so the sport suspension- does it have any parts that are not replaced by the arb kit that are worth having?

The seat in my TRD OR has been making my ass numb once I hit 90 minutes or so.

I'm hoping it just needs broken in or something.

OME suspension, ARB Air Lockers, CBI/Relentless/Pelfrey armor, HAM radio
Seats are probably the most important functional difference once suspension, wheels, and tires are replaced.

Don't underestimate this single factor - as it's a huge PITA to switch seats on modern air-bag equipped cars. And you won't be able to e.g. go to the dealer and just order TRD seats for your SR5; the replacement seats alone are *MORE EXPENSIVE* than the difference in cost between SR5 and TRD. Not to mention that the airbag harness hookup is different.

That said - figure out what's best for your back and butt. Some folks, as above, are perfectly fine with the SR5 seats.

Never sat in the non-TRD seats, I'll have to go sit in them at the dealer to see. Leaning towards just buying the TRD and saving for a bit to do the lift rather than paying less up front but hating my seats forever.

Do people swap 3rd members and put in the elocker from the off road into the sport?

Sometimes. But you have to swap the entire axle assembly, not just the 3rd, in order to do this.

So it's more typical to install either an ARB or a aussie "lunchbox" locker.

AFAIK, you can't get the NAV/JBL without the TRD Sport package. You're better off getting an aftermarket nav system on a non-TRD SR5 as the NAV/JBL is $2000 on top of the TRD Sport package.

I wanted a 6ft bed and the TRD OR package too, but I figured the 6ft bed was more important than a rear locker since I don't wheel often at all. I kind of wish I got a non-TRD sport as I've already changed my shocks, springs, and wheels. However, I do like the TRD Sport seats, stereo, scoop, and body color panels a lot.
