I'm not really digging the chrome rear bumper on my 2013 access cab SR5 and I'm wondering what I can get in the way of a color matched replacement. (I've heard bad things about trying to get paint to stay adhered to chrome) I can't find a stock replacement rear bumper that lists 2013 as a model year it fits so, that begs some questions: What years are the same? What models are the same? That way I know what to get. Thanks!!!

All 2nd gen tacomas rear bumpers are the same...now the color is what you need to find what you need because some where only made from 05-08, the others from 09-13
    What color is your truck?

Black. I can get it painted though (if it's not the right color) or can just get a primed one. (I'd prefer new, it's a new truck, got it saturday, LOL!)

Ah ya they changed the black on the color scheme on these trucks in 2011
If you can find someone with an 11+ who has melted their truck super clean and is willin to trade then you're gold

Melted? How often does that occur? (I've seen a couple burned up pics)

All I would need (if bought new) is just the metal shell, correct? (everything should just be transferable from mine? (step pads, hitch mount, license plate lights and all that)

    Speaking of transferring things over:
Anybody got torque specs for stock rear hitch bolts?

wow stupid auto correct...idk how i didnt caught that ignore that last post.
what i meant to say was that alot of members keep their truck looking clean and in excellent shape so you should be able to find someone what would want to trade...
i guess thats all you would need...idk how easy it is to take off all the plastic from the bumpers tho :notsure:

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I bought a color match rear bumper used off of a member here. It was originally a base model bumper, black no chrome. He had it professionally painted and it matches perfectly. Just another idea for you, find someone with a base model bumper who wants to trade for chrome and then paint that one if your are worried about the paint adhering to chrome. I also painted my chrome grill and i have no problems yet with chipping or pealing. Just gatta rough it up really good, make sure it is %100 clean and use a good adhesion promoter before you prime.
