A few days ago I noticed quite a bit of water dripping from my overhead console (compass and light) and also interior light. The weather was about -20 to -25C that day and a few days prior to that. It was fairly cold before that too. I noticed water dripping after I pulled outside of a heated garage where I was parked for about 20 minutes while unloading stuff. This was right after a four hour highway drive in -20C weather.

I don't have a garage so I always park outside. Initially I thought it was condensation since my windows always ice up inside in winter, but it was a fair bit of water so it made me concerned. I always clean my truck from snow, even sweep the roof so I don't have a foot of snow sitting on top...

I had my windshield replaced last winter with a cheap aftermarket one. First I thought it may not be sealed well anymore, but I would think water would be leaking down the windshield and would not get as far as overhead console let alone interior light.

That all happened last Sunday. Yesterday (Tuesday) temparatures climbed to -2C or so, so I went through a long overdue carwash. Again there were a few drips of water from overhead console and some moisture in the interior light. Much less than on Sunday.

Now I'm thinking it may be roof rack molding that is leaking? I don't have OEM roof rack and as far as I know the previous owner did not have one installed.

Any thoughts? Everything looks OK on quick inspection.

If you have a roof rack, I would look at that. It would have a higher probability of causing water to collect at the overhead. Perhaps pull off the side edge molding at the door and poke a flashlight over the edge to see what you can above the headliner?

I'd pull the headliner and have a look. The leak is likely no where near the light or overhead consol. As mentioned above, check the roof rack holes or, if you have one of those shark fin antennas, check around that also.

No, don't have a roof rack. I will inspect it more tonight after work.

I don't have a shark fin antenna on my truck. Well, I will take a closer look as you guys suggested.

There was a TSB regarding condensation buildup in the overhead light but it was for access cabs only. Don't know if it relates to your issue.

Even if you don't have a roof rack, the double cabs all have threaded nuts built into the roof to accept the OEM roof rack. They are located under the plastic strips on the roof. The third brake light is also another area where you could get water intrusion.

I forgot about third brake light.

Thanks for the TSB guys, I have an 07 so way out of warranty, but it may still help me resolve this just not for free.

Is that TSB pdf available for download/viewing?

Anyone having this issue on a '12+? My 2012 Access started dripping this morning, it has happened before, but I keep forgetting to look into it.

Bestop, Child Seats, petrified french fry, dog hair, empty Mtn Dew cans cracked windshield, scratches.
I took my '11 DC in for water dripping from the 'oh shit' handle on the driverside.

Dealer said they couldn't 'recreate the problem' and therefor there was no problem.

    Good luck with a resolution!

That's what I'm worried about, it never happens when I am able to take it in...of course.
