Its funny because I actually searched muffler bearing and was like wait a minute there's threads on this and pictures of the parts, haha. fuckers. So my whaa whar whaa noise is getting worse which is awesome. I'm down to carrier bearing and rear axle bearings. my question is how much play should be in my carrier bearing. I have about 3\8" up and down and side to side, the rubber isn't all dried out . it looks ok. Also would a bad rear bearing be felt up front in the floor and gas pedal? might get my toyota guy to run it on the lift and stethoscope the rear bearings. this is drivin me nuts.

I believe the carrier bearing does have a lot of play in it. When I did my lift it would move around quite a bit. If it was making the noise I think you would be able to see some kind of problem with it. If you put a lift on, youre driveline angles could be off causing vibration. That's pretty well documented on here, but I dont recall reading about any kind of noise associated with it. You can measure your driveline angles with an iphone app if you dont have an angle gauge and rule that out for .99 or less.

Dont know about the rear bearings.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but was there any fix for this problem?
