Do any of you go drifting when it snows? There are quite a few industrial areas and empty lots around where I live so I go out every once and while and mess around.

Anyone do this as well? or think its a no no?

I found this thing called youtube.... and I've seen some innocent fun (like drifting...) go terribly wrong rather quickly.
I am not risking flipping my baby.
    I can't afford it...
But I'll watch people do it :D

Does it sound like a good idea to strap fireworks to your nuts and light them? It should be the same answer to your question OP lol.

When we finally get snow over here i usually go and play in a big empty field shared with 3 public schools. It is 1/4 mile down my street, I go late at night and act a fool. I prefer to play in snow over mud b/c the caked on snow goes away naturally unlike mud. Probably wont have enough snow for another month though :(

I'v gone out lots in the past years and never hit anything, As long as your smart about it and keep it slow I don't see any harm. The roads/lots are completely empty at night and the only other vehicles I'v seen are other people off in the distance doing the same thing as me.

As for the video, I could probably put one together! I can toss the ol double cab around pretty good after the years of practice!

I haven't had my new truck in snow yet but i loved my old 1st gen Prerunner in the snow. I could easily whip the back end out and keep it in control. Doing figure-8s around parking lot medians at full tilt is the best feeling in a truck haha. My last car was pretty fun too. I would use the e-brake whenever I had to turn around, pull into a parking spot or driveway, etc. It made tight/slow turns a lot easier.

HELLS YEA. I will say Im still getting use to it though. I had three Audis before my 09 and they were all manuel which makes drifting that much more enjoyable and my truck is an auto so its a little tricky getting her to drop down in the gear I want her to to get the tires spining like I want. But yes every year me and my group of buddies all go drifting and make youtube videos of us doing crazy stuff in the snow. Kindda hard not to up here alaska hahaha.

that works if your truely in an empty parking lot and just spinning around in circles and sliding around. (call us stupid) but up here me and a friend of mine have gotten to the point that if theres nothing to actually test your skills and drift around then its not as fun. So when your trying to keep a continuous drift in a school parking lot or on a empty curvy road you kindda need to be able to switch gears cuz you either need a lower gear to get the tires spinning quick to throw you sideways or a gear higher to keep the drift going once your sideways. We have some summer time track time (actual drifting) so we get a little gutsy sometimes when the snow hits and the tracks are closed. Deff be careful when playing in the snow no matter what your doing but if your comfortable with your rig whatever it may be try adding some parking lot islands or slalom through some light poles in the empty parking lot.
