Our Jeep came with KM2s. Good for snow driving, horrible for winter driving. Most of my winter driving is on ice, half paved streets, hardpack etc. Very little of my winter driving is in loose powder snow. The KM2s are great for snow driving, but that's about it (for winter).

Put Duratracs on the Jeep and exact opposite of the KM2s. Way better for winter driving, a truly day and night difference. For actual snow plowing, I give the nod to the KM2s, but 90% of my driving in the winter isn't through the snow swept vacant industrial lots (aka 4x4 terrain in the city).

Taco now has Duratracs on it based on my experiences with the Jeep. The KM2s have no siping and is basically a hockey puck to drive on. The Duratracs are siped (and provisioned for studs) and you can really tell the differences.

Duratracs by a long shot for my winter driving conditions.

How do Duratracs keep coming up? They are not a MT.

I own a set of Duratracs and KM2's for my Tacoma. I bought 2 totally different tires for 2 totally different uses. KM2's for wheeling and Duratracs for driving on road.

Because the OP asked about them in his poll :notsure:

They are probably the most aggressive AT tire you can get. They have larger than normal shoulder blocks when compared to most AT tires. I see them as more of a AT/MT hybrid.

Firestone Mts are what i run, never had a issue with snow or slush, work great in the thin stuff and even better in the thick. they are also pre drilled for ice studs.

I had both the Hankook MT and the Firestone MT. I was satisfied with both in the snow.

You know, I've heard a lot about how KM2's are supposed to be bad on ice, but I have yet to notice them being any worse than any other tire on ice so far. Winter is still young though. haha

Hope this helps... This past weekend my buddy and I decided to go skiing in in our local backcountry, the road had not been closed off and there was about a foot and a half of snow at the end of the road. When we arrived there was a Chevy stuck in a snow drift, so my friend (he had a Chevy 1500 with 265/70 duratracs) attempted to pull him out, and he dug right through the snow and promptly got stuck. So I hook my truck up to the other Chevy (I have cooper st maxx 235/85) my truck didn't even spin the tires when I pulled him out.
I will post up some pictures

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I had to drive the work van up into the snow covered hills today. I had BFGoodrich AT KO tires put on a couple weeks ago. It managed to claw it's way up the hill just fine. That was only two inches of snow on top of a paved road, but considering it is a RWD with open differential I was sufficiently impressed.

I plan on getting Duratracs for the Tacoma, but the wife's Blizzaks are wearing down and will need to be replaced first.

I pulled out a bunch of rednecks boys from Carson Shitty with my Tacoma last week and they went the other direction, super impressed! Told me how surprised but proud they were of my truck haha.

Have you ever had traction problems with 35's?
