Tacoma Mike, what's your opinion, do you feel a one piece drive shaft might
    fix this mess. Thanks Tim

I have this same issue. Have had it at the dealership 3 times already for this issue. the tried replacing the U-joints saying that was the problem. As soon as I drove away I knew that it was not fixed. So I called them back yesterday and told them that it was still there and got no reaction. Going to call today again and see about the next step. What is this TSB, I am kinda confused by it. I know it's a replacemeant of parts but how do I go about getting my dealership to acknowledge this. Thanks

As usual, I have to educate my dealer about driveline vibration or they are just playing dumb. Can anyone advise further about this new TSB out such as the number and exactly what Toyota is going to do to attempt to fix it?

    Fog lights on anytime.

Give this number to your Toyota service Dept. and they can find the tsb on the computer.

    T-SB-0249-12 Issued 12/21/12

Already had all 3 steps done and no change at all!

Same thing here! Had the TSB done with all three new parts last week and no real change. All they can tell me now is they have to contact Toyota again and let them know their findings. Getting real tired of the problems with this truck (driveline vibe, warped drums, rough starts, squeaks, rattles, shaking passenger seat etc.....). I am already starting to look for a replacement. Just nothing out there worth a dam.

Picked up my truck today next step springs which are on backorder looking mid feb, so i wait. I'm told the springs are the ones used on the trd off-road pkg, i have the sport. They did try a different drive shaft but it still did it, every step has to be blessed by toyota, stay tune.

Your vibes went away after your OME lift, correct?

I have a small take off shudder as well. I am getting the full OME lift installed on my 2012 DCSB tomorrow, maybe mine will leave!

Coils/shocks, new rear dakar leaf springs, CB drop kit. Might correct, might not. From what I have read many have found vibes leaving after the OME lift.

i'd bet the shaking passenger seat is related to the driveline vibe

Nah. I have the 15 - 25 vibration issue and I think I'll just skip the dealer, install an Icon suspension, and fix any remaining vibes on my own. That's my plan at the moment anyways. I reduced my vibes a lot just by torquing my rear spring u-bolts. If I was going to keep it stock I'd have to come up with another plan though.

just got back from the dealer...
they said they couldnt reproduce the issue described in the TSB.
suprise suprise , what do you know? They had me in and out of there in about 30-45 minutes...
I will be taking it to another dealership tomorrow & I will try to force a ride along so I can demonstrate the issue.
The reason why I didnt do that with this dealer was:
I intially showed him another minor issue with the seal on my windshield molding coming unglued in the interior passenger corner. He tells me he's seen it before and that they could pull it all the way out or see if "one of his guys" could stuff it back into the corner. It immediately turned me off to this guy /dealership.
I said Toyota put it there for a reason right?
He said "you can just pull it out from all the way around the windshield and call it a day."
I said this is a 2012...just leave it alone and lets move on to check the vibration issue.
I also asked if they could change my remote to unlock all doors with 1 button push versus the 2...he says they couldnt get into the settings to customize it. I said its in the my owners manual that it can be changed. He said its not customizable...
After already being banned from one dealership service center - I played Mr. Nice guy and smiled and was on my merry way.
Ive learned these dealership service advisors are really hit or miss as to how much they feel like helping you. I bet if I was buying a new truck and the damn 2 button push to 1 button push was the deal breaker theyd "customize" that bitch in heartbeat.
Its all about getting the sale and then doing as little as possible afterward.

I do love the Tacoma(why Ive owned 2 of them) but the service is really lackluster at best.
