Lengthening the drive shaft isn't a good way to go... Problem is the gap is because of the 5" lift, but unless travel is limited, lengthening the shaft will bottom out the slip joint in the tailhousing before the axle reaches the bump stops.

It's a problem of geometry with lifts.

Personally, I'd remove the 1" block and stick with a 4" lift until ready to make the full commitment to an LT setup.

Makes sense. I will remove the block and also see if the rear axle will push any forward.

It won't push the axle forward, but it will close the gap a bit.

The driveshaft is the hypotenuse of a right triangle.
Your axle position front to back is fixed. Moving the axle down requires that the hypotenuse also lengthen proportionally A^2 + B^2 = C^2

The problem is, unless up-travel is restricted, if the shaft is lengthened, it'll jam into the trans at full compression, since that position hasn't changed from stock.

A secondary slip yoke that allows for more travel is the ultimate solution.

You might possibly look into angled and offset center pin blocks. My prerunner did the same thing with a 5 inch lift on the rear. theres a member on here who sells them built custom for your needs. His website is streetacos.com. There around 75$ to which is probably way cheaper than a new driveshaft
