I am looking at a 2nd gen to purchase on Monday 12/31. I am wondering if there is a way to make the e-locker work in 2wd like the grey wire mod on the 1st gens. If so, please point me in the right direction. If not then oh well, it won't keep me from buying it. The truck is a 2007 TRD sport with 115,000 miles on it. It's got a 6" fabtech lift w/ moto metals and 35's. If there is anything else I need to look at, that would be GREAT to know.

the guy says that it does. Like I said, I am going to look at it on Monday. If it doesn't have the locker, oh well, that means it will be getting one come tax time! I do plan on taking the 6" lift off and going with a mild 3" lift. I am planning on going no bigger than 33's. Also, I am wanting to regear and I read a thread that was saying 4.88's, is that the best gearing for 33's?

If it has a locker it did not come from the factory that way. It should be able to be engaged at any time.

Well depends old fab tech and procomp lift cut the crossmember but if you still have the piece you can reweld it and then later they designed it to we're you don't have to cut it

If you take it off you're going to have to go to smaller tires or do a lot of work to make the 35's work. If he installed a locker he probably regeared it for the larger tires too. I'd just leave it the way it is and enjoy it.

If I can take it off, I don't plan on running 35's, I plan on going to 33's. IDK if he regeared it or not. He said all he has done to it is put the fabtech lift on it. It was put on the truck w/84k miles and now has 116k miles on it. I will ask more when I go look at the truck tomorrow. The lift has been on the truck for 3 years. If I can take it off without rewelding the crossmember that would be great. If not, can I buy a new one??? lol I am new to DB lifts because I don't like them AT ALL. I want to take it off if possible w/out spending more money than it's worth.

If you go to a junk yard and cut if a junk taco and if you regear 4.56 would be perfect for daily driving with 33 and 35

Unfortunately around here, they don't carry anything that new at pull-a-part or similar junk yards. I can try some that I haven't tried before though. Would 4.56 be great for pulling also? I have a mobile car wash business that is on a trailer.

On the truck. How will I know if the crossmember has been cut? will it be shorter?
